Got on Twitter today and realized rapper Fabolous' album Loso's Way came out today. So i got on Imeem and checked out the whole thing while tweeting my thoughts Track by track. so instead of writing some hella professional review, READ MY TWEETS, NIGGA!
listenin to Fabolous' new joint. first track bangin
2nd track is ok. idk how i feel about Fabolous with all these singing hooks. his voice is grittier too. got a clipse vibe like Malice sorta
3rd track... MORE SINGING??? WAIT LOSO IS SINGIN HIMSELF??? a nigga kinda just want some old "go hard" Fabolous to be honest
im not gonna lie... track 3 gets TWO HUGE THUMBS DOWN
THIS NIGGA SINGIN ON TRACK 4 TOO????!?!?! RAP, NIGGA!
track 4 is kinda hot tho. its bearable. why? cuz ryan leslie is a beast. its catchy, fav of the cd so far. "Everything, Everday, Everywhere"
FIRST 5 TRACKS ON FABOLOUS ALBUM AND ALL THE HOOKS ARE SINGING!!! NOW ITS THE DREAM!! DANG NIGGA! RAP A HOOK FOR ONCE!
its not bad... its just not what i expected. ok well yea i change my mind. so far this album is mad REGULAR. "Lososway" is the wrong way
i skipped to track 7 (no reason), so far the beat goes kinda hard. drumline and synth horns. nice
LIL WAYNE ON THIS JOINT!??? LETS GET IT!!!
wayne is killin the hook! "salute" is the hardest on the CD now. BOUT TIME, LOSO!
rewind to track 6
Oh snap! Jay-Z on this mug! "Money Goes, Honey Stays"
ok. this track is just ok. im guessing he sampled Jay on the hook. Jay has no verse. Im mad. disappointed. BOOOOOO, NIIIIGGGGAAAA
i dont like track 8 already. Im not gonna lie, this album makes me really mad. and i want to listen to my iPod instead of this crap online
all votes for skipping this track?? vote is unanimous. on to track 8.
WAIT!! WAIT!!! JOE BUDDEN JUST KILLED HIS VERSE! but not even he can save this wackness...
"The Fabolous Life" is a pretty smooth track. I kinda dig it. Back to singin hooks tho but its still kinda hot. Nice cruisin track
ok sorry... back to 'Lososway'. where we at? Track 10 "Makin Love"
now this song is SICK!!! they sampled "Brokenhearted" by Brandy, which makes the song automatically dope. and Ne-Yo is murderin the hook!
Loso usin his smooth flow for this one! WOOOOO!! FIIIRRREEE!!! BOUT TIME!!!
I can see this as a single, so far this is the only song on the album i would buy haha straight up
Loso and Ne-Yo collabs are ALWAYS on point tho... i expected nothin less!!
Track 11 "Last Time" with Trey Songz i think. maybe not. Another singin hook. Loso has gone ALL THE WAY r&b haha. another smooth track
i like his flow on this one. another ridin track.
Track 12 "Pachanga" honestly it sounds like he tryna get his Jay Z on. soulful track, rap hook. this is a classic Roc A Fella type joint
however... not feeling it. its just ok. could be better. nice effort. It sorta captures the essence of how i THOUGHT the album might sound
after all it is called 'Loso's Way'. and this album lack gangster. lol i thought it was gon be Carlito references and drug talk or something
and no i dont like this song "Pachanga". next track
Track 13 "Lullaby". honestly i have just lost faith in this album now so I am not even lookin forward to finishin this song out
Next track.
Track 14 "Stay" emotional track. The last third of this album is COMPLETELY diff from the rest. i think Marsha Ambrosius on the hook
song about his father. however, its another Loso attempt at his soul vibe. i just cant get with it.
Next track. sorry.
Last song "I Miss My Love" story selling soulful track. This album is not very cohesive. The last few tracks wer soulful on the NY city tip
Then before the soulful tracks there were 2 sex songs
Then before that it was all his singy r&b/pop rap tracks with overly dont production. I dont get it Loso. i dont get it
Thru with the album. Top 3 tracks "Makin Love", "Last Time", and "The Fabolous Life"
Overall.... 4 out of 10. Im out.
If u havent already, check out the album. What do you think?
Peace

Ok.
Lemme address this while its hot.
Its been buzzin all over blogs, hip hop sites, everywhere u look on the internet from Twitter to your local gossip site...
Jay-Z's latest track from
The Blueprint 3,
"D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)"
I log on Twitter from a late afternoon nap to see whats new, and I see all these posts about Jay-Z. So instantly, I'm like "Oh snap! Its gotta be something huge about my part-time favorite rapper!" Anybody that knows me, knows I'm a HUGE Jay fan, from
Reasonable Doubt to
American Gangster.
I research a lil more on the Twitter and soon find out Jay just leaked a new song...
I quickly find it on zshare, (cuz yall know its gon be deleted pretty soon), and listen to its about 4 times back to back.
I expected Jay to be using auto tune, or something crazy, with some really different sounding beat, and him really commenting on how certain artists KILL auto tune
But NOPE
NOT IMPRESSED
Honestly, to me (lemme remind u this is MY opinion), its the same ole Jay. Crazy soul sample, him snappin about somethin, doin his Hov thing. Dont get me wrong tho...
Lyrics: DOPE
Beat: CRAZY! (what u expect from NO-ID and Ye??!)
Topic: errrr... uhhh... i disagree

Jay went EXTRA hard on niggaz using Auto Tune, as if Jay-Hova, the God MC, can just suddenly record and leak a track and KILL the use of auto tune... this God stuff really been gettin to his head even more the older he get
After this, I went and listened to
Jay's interview w/ Hot 97.PLEASE listen to it. This is what pissed me off even more. Cuz it sounds like some OLD HEAD rap niggaz SNAPPIN on these young kats tryna follow the NEXT hottest trend in not only Hip Hop, but MUSIC. What some people fail to realize, is that the key in music's progression is evolution. People feed off each other in music, and as a result new sub genres are created, characteristics from older periods of music re-emerge with new characteristics, etc etc. Its has never progressed by people tryna to REMAIN stuck and set in their ways. Cuz what happens then?? That artist than becomes irrelevant.
>Think about College Dropout compared to Graduation.
>>Same thing goes for Block Is Hot and Carter III.
>>>OR! How about Drake's FIRST TAPE compared to So Far Gone
EVOLUTION + PROGRESSION =
RELEVANCE
The whole time in the interview Jay talkin bout leavin the auto-tune trend and pretty much how its waaaay overused. I get that what he is trying to is encourage the CONTINUING GROWTH of Hip Hop. Yet he tries to accomplish that by rappin with the same style he been doin FOREVER! Soul sample, and a sub-par hook. Just bein real. A lil contradictory my nigga.
And lemme say that I do agree auto-tune is overused, but everyone knows the newest, hottest sh** is always overused. Remember crunk music and snap music, whatever....?? GAWWD I THOUGHT IT WOULD NEVER END! But rest assured, the people doing it right WILL survive and will be the ones remembered for it. Cmon Jay, Kanye T-Pain and Lil Wayne aint gon be the only ones who go down in history as the Hip Hop artists that perfected auto tune.

I was just tweetin with
Tatiana from CultureShockMag.Com and told her people are finally learning how to use auto-tune right. Instead of niggaz tryna copy Wayne's style of rappin (wailing with it) or instead of copying T-Pain's use of it (singing it on hooks) people are making it more relevant and using it effectively now. (That Drake sh** was ARTISTIC, MAN! The new Black Eyed Peas joints are CRAZY!) Lemme stress, MOST PEOPLE. Not all. But music has been headed in the techno/electronic/Euro-pop direction for a while. We hear its influence on all the singles and everything nowadays. And this is just the beginning.
ANYWAY, Thats my 95 cents on this issue, forget all that 2 cents nonsense. Sometimes an nigga gotta speak his WHOLE mind!

Other peoples blogs are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cool.
Mine is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not cool.
LOL
For real tho, ive seen some AMAZING blogs. And by amazing im not just referring to layout, design, and followers, but mainly post topics, writing style, and just overall DOPENESS.
SO yes. My excuse for not blogging these past few days is the fact Ive just been overwhelmed but so many other AMAZING blogs
I swear, all of this online stuff actually takes skill to manage: Blogs, twitter, youtube, myspace, etc etc. Its hard work to create a following and stay creative and relevant in the forever advancing technological age
Here are some blogs from either friends or acquaintances of mine that I really enjoy. You all should definitely check em out when u get a chance, and follow them if u like what u see. I know I did. I strive to be as cool as them one day (online anyway lol)
http://shessooffbeat.blogspot.com/Primarily music review blog written by a new friend from Twitter (i know right... the craze finally hit me too). Her writing style is informal yet hella honest and real. Had me readin for a while and catchin up on her old posts!
http://www.fabglancenashville.blogspot.com/Blog that focuses on urban fashion and style but also touches upon music occasionally. We are both Chester French fans so thats a PLUS! Hahaha written by a church friend of mine Melissa Watkins. I love the scripture at the top of the blog "Your task is to be true, not popular. (Luke 6:26)" MESSAGE! Lol I def dig her writing style as well. And she is most DEFINITELY up on her fashion. See you in Europe, Melissa!
More blogs to come. Im off to work. Its Friday, and the weather has killed my weekend high already. BOOOOO
PEACE
